Hand painted wearable art designed by a Hungarian mom in Seattle.
I was born in Hungary and I left my home for the love of my life. I moved to the States. I quit my full-time job and became a stay-at-home-mom in 2016. I never regretted a second of this decision. Now, I am a mother of two beautiful little girls.
Being a mother is constantly keeping me busy; however, I still had the desire to start working again and find the profession that makes me happy. I wanted to start my own business which would allow me to have flexible time for my children, while I also wanted to share traces of my culture with the world. I have always loved painting, so it was a given to start working on something I could create myself. My goal was to combine part of my tradition with my creativity. So, I started working on some wearable art, such as earrings and hairpins.
The name of the company was inspired by my muses, my two daughters. The name ‘a-mia’ is a portmanteau word, created by their names.
